Description

The LBP Lifetime Achievement Award has been created to recognize the ongoing contributions of certain board members who have served on the LBP board over an extended period of time. Any recipient of this award must meet the following criteria:

  • Board or committee service spans 15 years since inception of the organization.
  • Board service of no less than five years.
  • Must have served on the executive board committee at least two years.

In its first year of existence, the LBP Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes the contributions of Hugo Delgado, LBP of San Francisco co-founder.

2008 Recipient: Hugo Delgado, CPA

A certified public accountant (CPA) and a partner in the CPA and consulting firm of Rodriguez, Perez, Delgado & Co., LLP, Hugo Delgado has over 27 years of professional experience. His experience includes being affiliated with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Touche Ross. He has also held various accounting positions in private industry including assistant treasurer at American International Underwriters and controller at Industrial Indemnity Financial Corporation.

Hugo holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and is a candidate for a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He is also pursuing his Series 7 license and has obtained an insurance license for services provided through Omega Financial LLC.

His affiliations include the AICPA and CSCPA. He co-founded the Northern California chapter of the American Association of Hispanic CPAs, now known as LBP, served as President from 1994 to 1996, and currently serves as director at large since 2005. He served on the boards of various community service organizations as well as the AICPA committee on Minority Initiatives. He is a mentor in the Puente Project and has participated in Junior Achievement and Project Business at underrepresented schools. He provides speeches for various panels covering tax, accounting and small business issues.

Despite the time commitments required of his career and volunteer activities, Hugo and his wife raised three sons who now follow in their father's footsteps. All three sons have chosen careers in the area of finance. His sons recently stated that they would not have achieved as much in their lives without the assistance, love and support of their parents.

Hugo, LBP and your family congratulate you for your unending devotion to improving the lives of our community.
