2008 LBP Lifetime Achievement Award
Description
The
LBP Lifetime Achievement Award has been created to recognize the
ongoing contributions of certain board members who have served on
the LBP board over an extended period of time. Any recipient of
this award must meet the following criteria:
- Board or committee service spans 15 years since inception of
the organization.
- Board service of no less
than five years.
- Must
have served on the executive board committee at least two
years.
In
its first year of existence, the LBP Lifetime Achievement Award
recognizes the contributions of Hugo Delgado, LBP of San Francisco
co-founder.
2008 Recipient: Hugo Delgado, CPA

A certified public
accountant (CPA) and a partner in the CPA and consulting firm of
Rodriguez, Perez, Delgado & Co., LLP, Hugo Delgado has over 27
years of professional experience. His experience includes being
affiliated with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Touche Ross. He has
also held various accounting positions in private industry
including assistant treasurer at American International
Underwriters and controller at Industrial Indemnity Financial
Corporation.
Hugo holds a B.S. degree in
Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley
and is a candidate for a Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate
University. He is also pursuing his Series 7 license and has
obtained an insurance license for services provided through Omega
Financial LLC.
His affiliations include
the AICPA and CSCPA. He co-founded the Northern California chapter
of the American Association of Hispanic CPAs, now known as LBP,
served as President from 1994 to 1996, and currently serves as
director at large since 2005. He served on the boards of various
community service organizations as well as the AICPA committee on
Minority Initiatives. He is a mentor in the Puente Project and has
participated in Junior Achievement and Project Business at
underrepresented schools. He provides speeches for various panels
covering tax, accounting and small business issues.
Despite the time
commitments required of his career and volunteer activities, Hugo
and his wife raised three sons who now follow in their father's
footsteps. All three sons have chosen careers in the area of
finance. His sons recently stated that they would not have achieved
as much in their lives without the assistance, love and support of
their parents.
